Behind every course at Holistic Hands of Purbeck Training Academy is a genuine passion for raising standards, sharing knowledge and helping therapists build careers they can be proud of.
I am Naomi Spencer, founder of Holistic Hands of Purbeck and Holistic Hands of Purbeck Training Academy. I am a multi-award-winning therapist, qualified educator, holistic practitioner, Reiki Master, business owner and therapist mentor, with extensive hands-on experience working with clients and supporting other therapists within our industry.
What makes my teaching different is that I am still very much a working therapist. I understand the realities of the treatment room because I am in it every week. The techniques and knowledge I teach are grounded in genuine client experience and the high standards of care I expect within my own salon.

My Approach to Education
I believe the best training happens when students feel comfortable, supported and able to learn at their own pace. Our courses are deliberately kept to small groups, allowing plenty of individual attention, hands-on practice and time to ask questions.
Whether you are completely new to the industry, returning after a career break or already an experienced therapist wanting to expand your treatment menu, you will be welcomed into a relaxed and encouraging learning environment.
There is no expectation to arrive knowing everything. That is what you are coming to learn. My role is not simply to show you a routine. I want you to understand why you are doing what you are doing, develop excellent practical skills and leave feeling confident enough to put those skills into practice.
Professional, Accredited and Insurable Training
I hold the Award in Education and Training and have continued to invest extensively in my own professional development throughout my career.
Our professional courses are accredited by Associated Beauty Therapists and are insurable, combining underpinning theory with extensive practical learning and real-world treatment-room knowledge. Training may include professional course materials, practical tuition, small-group teaching, accredited certification on successful completion, refreshments and lunch, a student welcome pack, guidance around professional practice and ongoing tutor support.
Following successful completion of training, eligible students can also access a special discount code from me to join Associated Beauty Therapists and arrange their professional insurance through them. This provides a straightforward route for students who wish to move from accredited training into professional practice with appropriate membership and insurance in place.
Learning From Real Experience
Alongside being an educator, I have built and continue to run my own salon and wellness business. That experience has taught me not only about treatments, but also about clients, customer care, confidence, pricing, boundaries, building a reputation, creating exceptional experiences and the realities of running a therapy business.
I bring those lessons into my teaching. I want students to leave with more than a treatment qualification; I want them to understand how to take their new skills out into the world professionally and confidently.
Therapist Coaching and Mentoring
I also provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring for therapists and wellness professionals who would like support with the next stage of their career or business. This can include treatment confidence, developing the client journey, pricing, business growth, introducing new services, identifying an ideal client or simply finding direction when things feel stuck.
On-Site Salon and Team Training
Training can also come to you. I offer bespoke on-site training for salons, spas and wellness businesses, allowing teams to learn together within their own working environment. This can be particularly valuable when introducing a new treatment, developing existing skills or creating consistent treatment and client-care standards throughout a team.
